Title
This is where all the knowledge gained by our heroes is going to be displayed. These are the basics methods you use when developing your drawing skills such as construction and proportions, anatomy, movement and expressions, all of that made from lines and strokes, the purpose being to Tell stories.
Getting the line right
Sometimes it is interesting to push a sketch further than the construction step so you have to go back and forth to fine tune your line in order to bring out the personality and emotions of the character you are working on. It is not about perfecting the drawing but perfecting the sense of observation. This is probably the best method when you are not that much into drawing by the time you pick the pencil and **need a good warm up**. Also when you are looking too much the same type of references, it gets **hard to find inspiration**.

Completely change the references you use
Sometimes you can get stuck into drawing a specific gender or type of character and get less and less able to improve at drawing. If you switch from a reference set to another you will get rid of the bad habits you would have taken by drawing too much the same thing. Then you can have a fresh start.
Save room for interpretation
You can involve a lot more your imagination into the drawing when you pick references that do not explicitly show all details of the character, for instance picture shooted in low light.
Draw upside down
When observing a reference image you tend to draw what is in your mind rather than what you really see. This is because your brain recognises what you are looking at and have symbols attached to that. By flipping the picture upside down you bypass this association made by the left side of your brain and leave room for the right side to process the information. **Since you are more confortable drawing on the right page, flip the sketchbook so left page become the right and do this exercise of drawing upside down.** You get it, when looking at the sketchbook all drawings will be facing up.
Enter into the story
In order to vary the type of practice around drawing, you can write down some informations that will help you [[Creating characters]].
